Ricky Austin

I lead a communications team committed to building a world where every child has the opportunity to receive an excellent education.

With a diverse portfolio of experiences—including a little dabbling in the great books, teaching, leading educational technology initiatives, managing alumni relations, orchestrating meaningful web experiences, and telling stories—I create, plan, write, design, code, and problem-solve. I take pride in my ability to keep many plates spinning and to deliver the support and tools to assist others in reaching their goals.

2013 - Present

Manager of Communications, Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE)

Currently lead a team of twelve communications specialists tasked with developing and executing brand, marketing, public relations, content, and internal communications strategies and tactics, including web, print, earned and paid media, video, and social content.

Support ACE’s eleven distinct programs with strategic consulting, audience analysis, and collateral creation.

2010 - 2013

Assistant Director, ACE Advocates, Alliance for Catholic Education

Led the creation and management of ACE’s online presence and interactive media efforts, including the design and development of the ACE website, an internal social network, a graduate and benefactor CRM database, and an online resource clearinghouse..

Oversaw six grassroots, graduate-led volunteer networks founded to build local support for Catholic schools through community building, fundraising, and advocacy.

2007 - 2010

Director of Technology/Instructor, St. Hilary School

Developed curricula and lesson plans for, instructed, and evaluated 340 K-8 students in the use of computer applications, hardware, and web technologies.

Redesigned and relaunched the school website, built a social media presence to engage alumni and parents, designed the school logo, and started a parent e-newsletter.

2005 - 2007

Second Grade Teacher, Rosary Catholic School

Developed lesson plans for, instructed, and evaluated a self-contained 2nd grade class as part of the University of Notre Dame's ACE Teaching Fellows.
